Biography
My name is Zack Romann, and I'm a Musician and Producer from New Jersey. I create mainly electronic music, and I am in the process of recording my first album.
I play Guitar, and Piano at a fairly intermediate level. I wouldn't consider myself an instrumentalist by any means, but I know enough to be able to make the music I want to make. I have a good understanding of Music Theory, but I often create more based on sound than composition rules. I'm open to working with other local artists, who are interested in collaboration. I want to push past genre boundaries, and help put an end to the formulaic nature of popular music today.
In my home studio, I use Logic Pro X.I’ve been using Logic as my main DAW for 3 years, and consider myself to be extremely proficient in using it for Recording, Editing, and Mixing. I use the Scarlett 2i4 for an audio interface. I record all of my vocals with an AKG P420 and most instruments and amps with a Shure Beta 57. My main guitar rig consists of my homemade Fender strat running through a Fender Blues Jr. I also play a Martin DCPA4 Acoustic. I use mostly software synths such as Serum, Massive, and the Roland Cloud emulators. For sampling and drum sequencing I run Machine by Native Instruments through logic, and control the program and create using the Maschine MIKRO.
Along with music, another passion of mine is street photography. I’ve been doing photography seriously for 2 years. I shoot mainly on a Nikon D7100 with a 50mm f1.8 lens, But I’ve recently taken up 35mm film photography with a Minolta Maxxum D3000 with a 55mm f1.4 lens. I take all kinds of pictures but prefer to take street portraits.
I consider myself to be a very determined, and hardworking person. Once I set a goal I will do nearly anything to achieve it. I believe I have good people skills, especially when it comes to communication and compromise. I try at all times to be as open-minded as possible when it comes to new experiences. I value other people's time and effort and try to be respectful and professional. Most importantly I am an individual. I know and understand my weaknesses and strengths, and do everything I can do to learn and better myself every day.
